ONE STOP CENTRAL OTAGO WINE TASTING

Wine lovers visiting Wanaka and its surrounds in January have the opportunity to taste the finest wines from the throughout the region at the inaugural Central Otago Cellar Door.
17 local wineries – including many that are not usually open to the public – and a couple of brewers will showcase their wine portfolio at this exciting afternoon wine tasting on Wednesday 13 January 2016.
On entry guests will receive a complimentary Riedel Ouverture wine glass valued at $25 that they will use throughout the tasting and take home. Wineries will offer 15 ml tastings of a range of wines across their portfolio including the well-known Central Otago Pinot Noir and other varieties which are grown across the region including; Rosé, Riesling and Chardonnay. There will also be locally produced craft beer and cider for tasting.
For those looking to relax and sit down, the garden surroundings of Edgewater which stretch down to Lake Wanaka make the perfect spot to find a shady nook and savour the flavour of Central Otago. People wanting to enjoy a local drink at their leisure can purchase drinks by the glass, listen to a live band and mix this all with food available for sale.
Central Otago Cellar Door is part of Feast Wanaka. This inaugural event includes a four-night restaurant by Auckland chef Nick Honeyman who has just returned from a summer season at Le Petit Leon in the South of France. Feast Wanaka has been created by experienced wine and food event manager and marketer Nicola McConnell of Brand Amp, who has organised public tastings for groups up to 30,000.
